The Links, Incorporated Responds to Texting and Driving Epidemic

Organization Lends Support to AT&T’s “It Can Wait” Campaign

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Links, Incorporated applauds AT&T’s efforts to stop the alarmingly increasing trend of texting while driving, and is proudly supporting AT&T’s “It Can Wait” campaign.

With over 100,000 deaths just last year, The Links, Incorporated recognizes the importance of ending this dangerous habit that has become all too popular among teens and adults. Drivers are 23 times more likely to get in a crash while texting and driving according to a recent AT&T Wireless survey. AT&T is leading the way to educate drivers and passengers of the dangers through its campaign.

The Links, Incorporated is encouraging its 12,000 members to sign AT&T’s pledge not to text and drive through the website,, and participate in the September 19, “No Text on Board – Pledge Day” to bring attention to this important issue.

To find out more information about the pledge visit the AT&T website: and download calendar reminder.
